Good Dye Young was created by Hayley Williams, lead singer of the Grammy Award-winning band Paramore, and her longtime hair stylist and makeup artist, Brian O’Connor.
The two became best friends through years of creative collaboration and developed GDY as a good-for-you hair color brand that breaks down the walls of being a company in order to build a community centered around color, connection, and creativity.
As a life-long rockstar, Hayley Williams has always channeled her music background and artistic creativity into her hair as an avenue of her personal expression & experimentation. Tired of traditional dyes killing her hair, Hayley knew she had to find something better.
Featured in Paramore’s 2007 breakout music video, the highly coveted secret formula to Hayley’s iconic fiery hot orange color, Riot, would go on to become Good Dye Young’s first of many creations.
Brian O’ Connor is a staple in the styling scene in the South’s entertainment capital, Nashville. With over 21 years of experience in color, cutting, and styling, Brian O’Connor has created stage-ready shades for Fall Out Boy, Sheryl Crow, Lady A — and of course, Hayley Williams.As a young child, hair color gave Brian the courage to be different. Today, he empowers others to do the same, utilizing his eye for color and style to masterfully develop hair formulas with high standards, quality ingredients, and incredible results.
